Wacoal wants to offer full-figured women—who often have to shell out more than average-sized women for intimate apparel—a bargain with the launch of three full-figured bras priced at $48 retail. The first style, coined Basic Beauty, hit stores this November, and will be followed by Perfect Form, hitting stores in February 2010, and Simple Shaping, hitting stores in June 2010. Basic Beauty and Perfect Form will be available in sizes 34C through 42G, and Simple Shaping will run from 34C to 40DDD.
“At $48 […] Wacoal brings fit, comfort and affordable quality to the full-figured, price conscious customer,” Liz Smith, national fit expert for Wacoal, said. “With [all three styles] Wacoal maintains their superior quality and value, while offering an affordable alternative.”
The majority of Wacoal bras retail at Nordstrom stores for more than $50.
The underwire style Basic Beauty is made of nylon and spandex, and features molded two-ply cups with an inner sling for smooth, comfortable support, the company reported. Perfect Form provides “excellent” lift, shaping and support with molded two-ply cups for smooth support and two-ply net back for comfort and breathability, the company said. The full-figured minimizer Simple Shaping features a molded simplex cups, padded shoulder straps and a back stretch elastic offering superior comfort and support, Wacoal said.
