BodyZone Plans January Launches

(Filed Under wholesale Dancewear News). January 2010 will mark several new launches for Body Zone Apparel, a Phoenix, Ariz.-based dancewear producer. In addition to nearly doubling the size of its Naughty/Sexxy boxed line, which features model Jenny Poussin, the company will launch 11 dress styles and three new fashion groups.

According to Ray Grden, president of Body Zone Apparel, the company will add 11 new styles to the Naughty/Sexxy line due to its popularity, pushing it to 24 total styles. The line retails for $16 to $36, and is available in one-size.

He attributed the line’s success to its quality and packaging. “I think the look of the box and the fact that you can see the front and back of each style due to its unique shape adds to its appeal,” Grden said. “It is also of a better quality than your typical boxed good. Since it is dancewear, the women who wear it require more durability, while boxed lingerie is typically regarded as an impulse purchase for one-time use. At the same time, it has a lingerie feel, despite the fact that it is appropriate for girls to wear professionally.”

He anticipates lowering the Naughty/Sexxy line’s price points for the January launch. Price points have not yet been set for the dress line or the new fashion groups; however, Grden anticipates both retailing in the mid-priced range. Both run in one-size.

The dress line will include approximately 12 new styles distinguished by extra embellishments, he said. “For example, one dress will have 174 eyelets, another will have over 20 zippers. Although some styles will have the soft feel of our previous launches, this line has a more rock 'n roll edge that is very unique. [The dresses are also] more form-fitting than our preexisting styles.”

Each of the Fashion Groups will include three to five silhouettes offered in three colors. One will be made from black foil fabric “that resembles leather,” while a second will be made from a gold foil fabric mixed with printed fabrics. The third group will be made from a shimmery fabric mixed with solids and fishnet fabric.

Retailers currently carrying Body Zone include FunkyPair.com and the Funky Pair brick and mortar store, HowCool.com and WickedTemptations.com. For further information, call (602) 393-1671, or e-mail Ray@BodyZoneApparel.com.
