(Filed Under Fashion News). The board of directors of VF Corporation announced on December 9th its decision to elect Karl Heinz Salzburger as corporate vice president, effective January 4th.
Salzburger, who is based in Lugano Switzerland, has also been promoted to president of VF International and was named a member of the company's operating committee. His former title was president of VF EMEA and Asia. "The promotion of Karl Heinz as a corporate vice president and member of our operating committee acknowledges his contributions to date and recognizes the importance of our international growth plans in the years to come," said Eric Wiseman, chairman and chief executive officer of VF.
Salzburger will continue to be responsible for driving growth of VF's brands throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region, reporting to Wiseman. "Karl Heinz and his team will continue to lead the expansion of our brands throughout Europe and drive additional strong growth in China, Russia and other emerging markets," said Wiseman.
"Karl Heinz has demonstrated exceptional leadership since joining VF in 2000, and has played a key role in driving strong top and bottom line growth in many important geographic markets," said Wiseman. "We look forward to continued growth in our international businesses in the coming years and we expect international revenues to be a third of our total revenues by 2012, if not before."
