(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). In a reported effort to strengthen and expand its distribution network, La Perla has purchased London-based distributor Hornvale, a long-time partner of the company. According to La Perla, with this purchase it has gained 12 directly operated points of sale, including department stores Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, as well as the La Perla London Boutique.
“Directly managing the UK market, one of the most important fashion markets in the world, is [a] key pillar of our global strategy,” Alain Prost, chief executive officer of La Perla, remarked. “Thanks to the solid foundation established by Hornvale, the UK market already represents 12 percent of La Perla’s extra-Italian revenues, and we feel that the market can continue to grow and develop thanks to a more direct commercial oversight and stronger integration into La Perla’s logistics network.”
During the second half of 2009, La Perla also brought the BeneLux market under the direct control of its French subsidiary, which additionally gave it control of the Brussels Boutique; as well as began directly managing its distribution in Hong Kong and China, through which it added six boutiques and shop-in-shops. The company plans to open two additional stores in Asia during 2010.
