(Filed Under Fashion News). If Paris’ recent Salon International de la Lingerie and Interfilière shows are any indication, the worldwide economic situation is on the mend, at least in the intimate apparel and textile industries. The shows—which are organized by Eurovet and took place from January 23 through 25, 2010—saw a 20 percent increase “single-visit” visitors over last January’s show; to 29,928, with 18,808 in attendance at Salon International de la Lingerie, and 11,120 at Interfilière.

Of those in attendance at Interfilière, 63 percent came from abroad, and 37 percent came from France. Eurovet reported that the top-10 countries at the show consisted of France, followed in order by Italy; Germany; The United Kingdom; Spain; Belgium; Japan; Netherlands; The United States; South Korea; and Switzerland. The company noted growth in visitors from Asian countries this year, as well as a return of companies from Spain.

Brands who made an appearance at Interfilière included Chantelle, Lejaby and Huit Diffusion from France; Anita, Esprit and Felina from Germany; Hanro International from Austria; Calvin Klein Underwear, Jockey International, Le Mystere and Maidenform from the U.S; and La Perla from Italy, among many others.
