(Filed Under Fashion News). Jean Paul Gaultier fashion will now be available on a budget. The French designer — who became a worldwide household name when he constructed the skintight black suits and cone bra corsets for Madonna’s Blond Ambition Tour in the nineties — has designed a women’s collection for Target, set to hit stores this March 7th and remain available through April 11th.
Gaultier follows in the footsteps of Alexander McQueen and Anna Sui in Target’s Designer Collaboration series, through which the company asks the featured designer to choose a muse or theme as inspiration. According to Gaultier, his collection is based on “the wide range of personalities that make up the diverse styles of American women. From ingénue to rock ‘n roll, this collection celebrates women of all ages and a host of distinctive, iconic American styles.”
In addition to ready-to-wear, the collection includes swimwear in styles ranging from “tattoo edgy to feminine floral,” and graphic-printed and mesh leggings. Prices range from $17.99 to $199.99.
