Papillon Bleu Launches New Collection

(Filed Under wholesale Loungewear News). Papillon Bleu, a UK-based luxury resort wear brand, is presenting their new Spring/Summer 2009 collection entitled "Leaving Town."

According to the company, the essence of the collection is the spirit of departure, and the sense that life is to be lived free, barefoot and at ease.

The collection is comprised of designs that offer free flowing silhouettes designed for feminine comfort and versatility; the garments can be appropriate for wearing during the day or at night. The products are made from 100 percent natural fabrics, such as linens from Italian mills and Chinese silks and are embellished with beadwork, sparkling sequins and Swarovski crystals.

Destination travel plays a major concept in the ethos and design theory behind the collection since the campaign look book was recently shot in Essaouria, Morocco, a small town south of Casablanca. "The narrow winding streets of the Medina and laid back culture create the most idyllic scene, just as it did in days of smuggling sea pirates, a perfect setting for a resort wear brand whose collections lend favor to those seeking a more relaxed side of life," said the company.

The collection is available in stores as beginning January 2009, including new selling points in London-based Question Air and specialist beachwear store Biondi, also located in London.

Founded in 2006 by designer Vanessa Barker and her partner David Robertson, Papillon Bleu designs for the independent and free spirited woman and the collections embody "an unselfconscious charm, that balances utter femininity with functionality." Today, the brand can be found in 140 outlet stores worldwide. There is currently only one selling point in the U.S. - the Boheme Boutique in Florida.
