Sam Fard, president of Roma Costumes, Inc, said the styling in his new fantasy costume line launching at this April’s ILS is much sexier than what you would find at a typical party store. “The line is very, very sexy. Its consists of sexy bedroom costumes that can be worn in the bedroom for a hot night at home, or out to a club or party if you are seeking a very sexy look,” he remarked.

The styles, which, as with the rest of Roma’s costumes, Fard designed himself, include Alice and the Queen of Hearts from “Alice and Wonderland,” a schoolgirl that Fard said “is different than the school girl costume you usually see on the market,” Frenchmaids, cats, sailors and more. They will run in sizes SM and ML. The company has not yet set pricing.

According to Fard, what sets the line apart is its unique, racy styling coupled with Roma’s signature high quality. “I have been developing the styles in this line for a year,” he remarked. “They are typical costumes, but with a great fantasy story attached to each one. [In general], I maintain quality control at Roma by choosing great quality fabric, 70 percent of which comes out of the United States. This is wonderful for our retail customers because they never get returns. We also have a very efficient system for shipping.”

Fard added that he selects his retail customers, steering clear of the mega chains to offer specialty stores a product that consumers cannot get just anywhere. “We sell to limited customers, and we choose them wisely. We also don’t have a retail site because I do not wish to compete with my customers.”
