The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) has announced the honorees to be recognized at the 32nd annual AAFA American Image Awards, which will take place at 6:30pm on May 26th at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City. Forty percent of the event’s proceeds will benefit Autism Speaks, a not-for-profit organization focusing on autism research and awareness.
Honorees include Li & Fung for the Global Leadership Award, to be accepted by president Bruce Rockowitz and LF USA president Rick Darling; the Fashion Maverick award will be presented to Fern Mallis, senior vice president of IMG Fashion; the retailer of the year award will be presented to Gap Inc; and the e-tailer of the year award will be presented to ShopBob.com. Also being honored is John Bartlett with the designer of the year award, and Bob and Suzanne Wright, founders of Autism Speaks, with the humanitarian award.
