(Filed Under Textiles News). Following two years of research, Italian textile manufacturer Tessitura Taiana has developed its first water-resistant fabric prototypes, coined Lot ‘O’ Dry Amazing Performance, for spring/summer 2011. According to the company, fabrics infused with this technology—which can be used for swimwear and other apparel—boast low water permeability, long high moisture management, and long durability, and are made in Italy in compliance with environmental and health regulations. The company will use the fabrics in its the swimwear and beachwear line, Taiana Blu.
Taking Lot ‘O’ Dry a step further, the company has developed “phantom” prints for swimwear. These consist of prints built into the fabric that only appear after the bathing suit has gotten wet.
