(Filed Under wholesale Loungewear News). For the upcoming fall/winter season, Between the Sheets is taking loungewear and sleepwear in a minimal and contemporary yet playful direction, according to Layla L’obatti, president of the company. “We really stayed away from ruffles, prints and embellishments with this collection, but our mix of colors within pieces like our Come Out & Play group adds a lightheartedness that a woman can have at any age,” she remarked.
Included in the collection are seven new styles, and two to four new color ranges in the company’s Well Played and Come Out & Play groups. Pieces wholesale for $15.30 to $76, and are available in sizes XS through L. They are all made in the United States.
“Our key pieces [in the line] would be our lounge pants, and our robes, which sell really well,” L’obatti said. “We’ve added a really stunning modal/silk swing babydoll with mesh trim that I think will be a signature look for Fall 2010.”
Retailers carrying the brand include Bardot Lingerie in Millburn, NJ, and Idee Est in Saudi Arabia. Bardot Lingerie held an in-store trunk show featuring the line on April 15, 2010, which Randee Tucker, co-owner of the store with her partner Gina Stempler, said was very successful.
Overall, Tucker had nothing but good things to say about Between The Sheets. “It is doing amazingly in our store,” she commented. “It’s a great line; casual yet fun and flirty. You can wear it to bed, or to run to supermarket. Its also made from Modal, so its extremely comfortable. Layla is so talented; the line is an absolute must-have.”
And the young company—which debuted at CurveNY in August 2009—expects to deepen its retail presence on the west coast. To accomplish this, L’Obatti has added Jennie Nielsen as its west coast sales representative.
L’obatti remarked about her decision to work with Nielsen: “I felt it was really important to find a representative for the brand that understood the market we were aiming for, the aesthetic, and the quality. I think Jennie’s upbeat personality is perfect for this brand, and her experience and contacts within the intimate boutique world are invaluable assets to a new brand. I’m so proud to have her representing us to the west coast stores.”
