(Filed Under wholesale Socks News). Darn Tough Vermont, a maker of high-performance outdoor sports socks, will introduce its first line of socks with virtually non-existent toe seams at this August’s Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Salt Lake City, Utah. According to the company, it is the first domestic manufacturer to take possession of the latest generation of knitting machines, which are made in Europe.
According to Ric Cabot, president of Darn Tough Vermont, these machines will allow the company to take their styles to the next level. “Thin, dense socks offer performance and durability advantages that become immediately obvious to people that put a lot of wear and tear in their socks, including exceptional fit, durability, and comfort properties like wicking and temperature control. We’ve been making socks like these for years, and customers love them,” he said. “The Holy Grail, though, has been to make a thin socks that meets our rigorous quality and performance standards with basically zero toe seam. Until now, no machine manufacturer has been able to produce knitting technology to satisfy our expectations for seamless socks. These new machines will finally allow us to achieve Darn Tough quality with a seamless toe.”
