(Filed Under wholesale Shapewear News). Hanes Smooth Illusions is back. Hanes Hosiery has relaunched the line of toning hosiery and shapewear with revamped packaging and lower prices. The line now includes five total styles, with the mid-thigh smoother, seamless waist smoother, light support pantyhose and full support pantyhose retailing for $15, and the waist smoother with extra firm control retailing for $20. Sizes run from S through XXL.
According to Angela Hawkins, director/general manager of hosiery brands at Hanesbrands Inc., the line’s pricing beats that of competitors. “The relaunch is more than a package update,” she said. “Comparable packaged shapewear products range from $25 to $50. We want our consumers to look beautiful at a price they can feel great about.”
Retailers carrying Hanes Hosiery include Dillards, Kohl’s, Bare Necessities and HerRoom, among others.
In other news, Hanes is the official apparel sponsor of Passionately Pink for the Cure, a fundraising program created by Susan G. Komen to inspire breast cancer advocacy and honor those affected by the disease. Actress Melina Kanakeredes, star of “CSI: NY,” has designed three Hanes shirts, and Hanes will make a total cash and in-kind contribution of $500,000 to Komen this year.
For the second consecutive year, Hanes is also offering the Pink Collection of panties, bras, socks and graphic T-shirts, including the three designed by Kanakaredes.
