(Filed Under wholesale Costume News). Ricky’s NYC is set to become even more of a New York City staple. The retail chain, which specializes in costumes, fashion accessories and more, plans to open three to five permanent stores and 30 temporary Halloween stores before the end of this year. According to Todd Kenig, chief executive officer, the company should have 30 total locations by the end of 2010. The new stores are slated to open in July, August and September, in time for the Halloween season.
With stores ranging from 2,000 to 3,000-square-feet, the retail chain will occupy approximately 75,000-square-feet when the new permanent stores open. Kenig reported the company plans to accelerate the pace of store openings in 2011, with seven new stores planned for the year.
Kenig said that the new stores “will have a refreshing, new, hip feel and look with a very cool [hair] salon called Revolver.” Revolver Salons are located inside of select Ricky’s NYC stores.
On the product front, Ricky’s NYC has expanded Mattesse Elite, its makeup brand, as well as its Ricky’s Private label hair brand, which will be expand beyond Ricky’s NYC stores to other major retailers nationwide. The company also has re-launched its website with a new look (www.RickysNYC.com).
