(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). As part of its effort to position off-price and full-line stores near each other, Nordstrom, Inc. is relocating its Nordstrom Rack in downtown Seattle from the Broadacres building to the Westlake Center, across the street from a Nordstrom store.
With 42,500-square-feet, the relocated Rack will offer 30 percent more selling space than its current location. The company expects to open it in spring 2012.
“We’re excited about relocating our downtown Seattle Rack across the street from our Nordstrom store,” Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack, said in a statement. “Our new Westlake Center location will […] Offer our newest Rack design features and make it easier for customers to shop both stores. Though we have a great fondness for our old home on Second Avenue, we hope to better serve customers in the new store.”
Nordstrom, Inc. currently operates 114 full-line stores, 76 Nordstrom Racks, two Jeffrey boutiques and one clearance store.
