(Filed Under wholesale Loungewear News). Loomworks Apparel, the parent company P.J. Salvage, has launched a new collection, called Wild & Free. The line is headed up by Julie Zipperer, former vice president and co-founder of Scanty, and, in the past, a P.J. Salvage employee. Last year Zipperer also offered her own line under the Maxey label.
“Wild & Free is a hip, young, contemporary line,” Zipperer explained as she showed the line at the brand’s booth at CurveNY on August 2; (just one aisle over from the separate P.J. Salvage booth). “The jean girl is going to love this line. It is more denim-friendly, and we have used superior fabrics, with each garment going through a special wash process to give it a super soft-hand feel.”
Zipperer said that the whole collection is “inspired by music, art and free spirit. All the prints are hand-drawn or painted or sketched. It’s not clip art. There is a reason why the print is on there. The line has a free, easy, contemporary feel.” Emphasizing that her customer is very fashion-forward in her jeans selections, Zipperer asked rhetorically: “Why can’t we be there for lounge wear?”
The apparel executive started up again with Loomworks on March 1 and launched the Wild & Free holiday/resort collection on May 1. For further information, call (949) 296-0380.
