(Filed Under wholesale Hosiery News). In early August, Central Carolina Hosiery signed a license to produce sheer hosiery under the Celeste Stein label. According to Walter Kruger, vice president of sales and marketing for Central Carolina, the new collection will be sold through both his company and Celeste Stein Designs, Inc.
Kruger claimed that his firm, founded 30 years ago, “supplies most brands and many of the better retailers in the country.” He added, “nobody has as many EJ machines or the ability to make as many patterns [as we do],” referring to sophisticated knitting machines produced by Lonati, which are capable of intricate designs and quick style changes.
Kruger said his quality is “comparable to Italy, but at a more competitive price.” The new hosiery line’s retail prices will be approximately $12 to $28.
Celeste Stein is a prominent Texas-based hosiery manufacturer. The company claims to have produced over 2 million pairs of printed socks, tights, and leggings in its sublimation printing facility, and offers over 1,800 prints. Thigh-highs retail from $16 to $28 on its website.
