(Filed Under wholesale Maternity News). Cake Lingerie, an Australian-based, nursing and maternity brand founded in 2008, achieved something of a milestone earlier this month, arriving for the first time on the BareNecessities.com website. This caps a recent expansion of its retail presence. According to Keith Hyams, sales and marketing director of Cake Lingerie, the company now sells to about 300 retailers of various sizes and types worldwide.
Four styles of bras (at $64.90 each) and three panties ($27-$29) were up on the BareNecessities web site in early August.
Hyams, who showed his bras at both the New York and Las Vegas Curve shows this August, credits, in part, Cake’s new MyBust technology, which BODY reported about in the August 2010 issue. Hyams explained that the MyBust construction is different for each bra size, rather than maintaining the same design across all sizes. Cake offers sizes 32 through 40, B through H.
According to Hyams, understanding the needs of women based on their sizes was fundamental in creating this fitting platform. “Simple, straight-line graduation of band sizes and cups to meet the needs of women in different sizes is an approach of the past,” he said. “Women will be delighted with the fit this unique approach to bra development provides.”
