(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). One thing is clear: Eveden is working to be a bigger player in the global lingerie market. After purchasing the bankrupt Huit in April, the British manufacturer has purchased a 21,000-square-foot warehouse and is upgrading its head office.
The warehouse is located in Kettering, England, less than a half an hour drive from Eveden’s headquarters in Northamptonshire. The site is split into two 10,500-square-foot chambers that the company said can be linked together. The company hopes to have the site operational by January of next year.
At the Northamptonshire office, Eveden is investing approximately £50,000, (approximately $78,128) on upgrades.
While the company said purchasing Huit “cements their position as one of the leading lingerie businesses in the world,” the facility upgrades and expansion are aimed at keeping things operational at home. “The character and heritage of the buildings we occupy is of paramount importance to us and our town location is critical to many local employees,” Tracy Lewis, C.E.O of the company, said.
“[The warehouse in Kettering] is a great opportunity to create the support infrastructure we need for the future and to continue to drive our service forward. This shows our commitment to the local area and is evidence that UK businesses can develop great product that has appeal in both the home and export markets.”
Eveden is known for specializing in lingerie for the full-bust and plus-size markets under the Fantasie; Freya; Goddess; Fauve; and Elomi labels. Huit, on the other hand, is a regular-sized lingerie brand, originally from France.
