(Filed Under wholesale Socks News). Oberon, a sock wholesaler spearheaded by Christopher Clark, will release their spring 2009 collection on March 15, 2009.
The company invited "up and coming" graphic artists to submit design ideas for the collection. Clark said the resulting socks will have: "an attractive grittiness while still being suitable for the board room."
Clark started the Charleston, South Carolina-based company in 2008. His goal was to create dress socks with a hint of individuality that were still appropriate for the corporate world. His current collection, the Buccaneer, runs at a retail price of $14.99. The argyle sock comes in shades of black or blue, and is sprinkled with tiny white skulls and crossbones. It is made from a wool blend featuring hand-linked toes for "long-lasting comfort."
"While socks may be a small part of the wardrobe, they are certainly not trivial," he said, "You find your style in details. You know how you are dressed. Whether or not everyone else can see the details you gain confidence and attitude from that."
Oberon's designs are currently sold through their website, and at the Brown Eyes Girls store in Florida. For more information, contact the company: (617) 571-7327, wholesale@oberonsocks.com.
