(Filed Under wholesale Shapewear News). Julie France Bodyshapers, the shapewear division of Eurotard, has been directing its attention to the specialty retail market in recent years, and based on the feedback of some of the brand’s customers, this venture seems to be paying off.
Amos Moshe, president of ClassicShapewear.com, an e-commerce shapewear retailer, said he has gotten a high return from the brand since adding it two years ago.
“From what the customers say, I find the Julie France products very reliable,” Moshe said. “They advertise a comfortable garment with support in the right places, and from customer response, they seem to deliver that. I get very low returns on their line.”
Of the brand’s products, he named the the Slip, the Strapless Dress Shaper and the Tummy Shaper as best-selling. M, L and XL the best-selling sizes, with almost equal sales across all three sizes. “Their plus sizes are also a nice sell,” he said.
Doris Woods, manager of Bra & Girdle in Lakewood, N.J., said Julie France and Spanx are the only two shapewear brands the store carries. The store has carried Julie France for a little more than a year.
“[Julie France] does very well,” Woods said. “All of the products are popular, [particularly] the slips and the high-waist boxer. [The brand sells well] with all ages and sizes. The most popular size is M, but that holds true with every brand that we carry.”
Julie France offers 21 styles, including one men’s style, running in sizes S through XL, with eight styles also running up to 3X. Retail prices run from $40 to $63.50, including plus sizes. Bodyshaper silhouettes include bras; camis; panties; thongs; bodyshapers; slips; bustiers; a men’s crew neck T-shirt; and more. They are available in shades of black and nude.
