(Filed Under wholesale Men's Underwear News). Despite the recession, Great Deals Distributions is feeling no pain, according to the company's president, Camilo Escobar.

"2008 was a great year for us," Escobar said, "Our Clever sales grew over 50 percent. Pikante, our newest line, has done so well that we are doubling it in size."

The company is releasing new styles in the Clever and Pikante Spicy Underwear mens lines in early February. They will show them at the MAGIC show in February and the International Lingerie show in April, both in Las Vegas.

Pikante will have 20 additional pieces in sizes S-XL, putting the line at about 40. Wholesale prices will be $7.50-$9.50, and the packaging will now be made from 100 percent recycled paper.

"We are adding a lot of thongs and boxers, and we are using women's fabric because it is lighter, softer, and more comfortable," Escobar said, "However, the printed designs will still be masculine. Pikante is at a lower price point than when we originally launched it, but the quality is still the same."

For Clever, they are adding 20 new styles and discontinuing 20 existing ones. New pieces will include "a lot more color," and wholesale prices will range from $8.25-$12.50.

"The special thing about Clever is that we print directly on the garments instead of buying already-printed fabrics," Escobar said, "The prints are created by our graphic designer, which makes them very unique."
