(Filed Under wholesale Dancewear News). Jodie Victor, owner and designer of SheRocks, is a true believer in custom-crafting her bikini dancewear styles.
Rather than the “cookie cutter approach” she sees many other dancewear designers as using, Victor works to develop creative, original bikinis and accessories. “[What makes SheRocks different is] high-quality fabrics and attention to detail,” she said. “Neon lace-ups, crossing chains that follow movement, studs that show you mean business, glam crystals, flowers and lace [are some specialties].”
For 2011, SheRocks is introducing 30 styles running in sizes S/M and M/L and wholesaling from $20 to $32. Popular looks include those with pyramid studs and her latest criss-cross chain style. Although Victor designs for exotic dancers, the suits are lined and can be worn as swimwear. She is able to work individually with stores to custom-design all of her styles in any of SheRocks’ available colors.
Victor founded SheRocks as a sexy jewelry company in 2000, quickly adding the bikini line. “My exotic adornments are still thriving and can be seen on my site as well as the bikinis,” she said. “My inspiration is basically from a penchant for glitter and glam rock. Sexy design is just what comes from me naturally; it’s organic for me to be drawn to the sexy, shiny side of things.”
Specialty retailers carrying SheRocks include Pleasure Zone in Houston, Tex., 7th Heaven in Scottsdale, Ariz. and La Cage in Manchester, N.H.
