(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Los Angeles-based Be Wicked has developed a collection of 39 burlesque-inspired corsets, set to hit stores the first week in April.
The corsets run in sizes 32 to 44, fitting women from sizes S through 4X, and wholesale from $34 to $38. According to PJ Labib, C.E.O of Be Wicked, the company brought its expertise in designing corsets to the burlesque styles, which are made with eight pieces of boning and come with removable garter belts.
“They are made from very high-quality brocade fabrics, and are constructed extremely well,” Labib said. “Women can wear them as lingerie or outerwear.”
To play up the Burlesque theme, the company paired these styles with hats, gloves, hosiery and thongs in its catalog, as well as skirts and pants to demonstrate its ability to transition into outerwear.
In the company’s boxed lingerie line, Labib said: “We went very sexy this year,” with bridal and bedroom styles packaged in a “beautiful” foil and matte box. Styles include teddies, chemises, bustiers and others, which come with matching thongs, gloves and other accessories. The 33 styles wholesale from $14 to $19 and will ship to stores in March.
Be Wicked will also launched 57 costumes for next Halloween.
Overall, Labib described 2010 as a very successful year for the company, with an increasing number of lingerie boutiques expressing interest in the brand. “Because we own our factory we are able to do some very beautiful, unique, custom styling, which has attracted many lingerie stores,” he said.
Retailers carrying Be Wicked include Electric Boutique stores in Texas and Lotions and Lace in Riverside, Calif., among others.
