(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). In the wake of news that a Saks Fifth Avenue store in Denver will close, Sak Inc. plans to open a new OFF 5TH location, the company announced Wednesday.

The company has signed a letter of intent to open a store at the Tuscany Place Design Outlets in Madison, Miss. during the spring of 2012. The 20,000-square-foot store will mark Saks’ first location in Mississippi.

During 2010, Saks Inc. shuttered six Saks Fifth Avenue stores. Currently, the company operates 57 OFF 5TH locations and 47 Saks Fifth Avenues.
