According to the American Cancer Society, 65-75 percent of women who have undergone breast cancer treatment develop this condition of localized fluid retention. Made from lightweight silicone and ABC's new Satin Skin material in a blush shade, the form will run in right or left-designated sizes 3-14 at a wholesale price of $164.
The purpose of the form is to aid is the circulation in the lymphatic system. It has channels on the back that "create a massaging action, which help to stimulate the flow of lymph fluid." Additionally, it is designed to prevent the onset of lymphedema in the chest area, and to promote air circulation. It has an asymmetrical design that: "hugs the chest wall creating a more snug fit."
ABC reported that, according to a field study conducted by the company's breast form designer, end users reported reductions in chest swelling and pain.
