(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). Japan-based Fast Retailing Co. and Mitsubishi Corporation have established a joint venture to develop the Uniqlo business in Thailand.

The joint venture, called Uniqlo (Thailand) Company Ltd., plans to the first store this fall. Fast Retailing already operates 132 stores throughout the Asian region in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan. It will become operational in June.

Mitsubishi has been establishing businesses in Thailand since 1954 in fields including machinery, metals and food.
