(Filed Under wholesale Shapewear News). Nearly a year after moving into a new headquarters and distribution facility in N. Potomac, Md., Shapeez is building an adjacent warehouse. Staci Berner, owner of the company, expects the added space to “give us tremendous capacity for stocking new styles as Shapeez growth continues to push 200 to 300 percent annually.”
The warehouse will be fully operational on July 1. At approximately 2,000-square-feet, it will bring the company’s square footage to approximately 8,000.
In other news, Shapeez has select DirectEDI to provide EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for current and future retailers. “This will position [us] to seamlessly expand and bring on large domestic and international distributors,” said Berner. “We chose DirectEDI due to their relationship with a newly signed Shapeez customer, Orchard Brands (Solutions Catalog).
“[We believe that DirectEDI will help the company expand because] when reviewing their list of customer schemas, we found that several of our current customers and several large potential retailers now testing Shapeez were present on their schema list. So this gives Shapeez capabilities to quickly bring on these new ‘larger’ retailers.”
Canadian and U.S. retailers carry Shapeez, including Von Maur locations in the Midwest, Top Drawer Lingerie in Exeter, NH and Fantasy Lingerie in Toronto.
