Lydia Conley, who has been at the company for a year, is in charge of the sexy and licensed Bettie Page divisions. Leslie Gaylor, who has been with Ellie for three years, is running Halloween.

“The customers are different, Halloween stores are different from sexy stores. Their needs are different,” explained Conley, adding that both “customer bases are large.”

In other news, Renger announced the introduction of two new shoes to benefit the National Breast Cancer Coalition, with “100 percent of the profits going to the association. We will have full stock by September for October Breast Cancer month,” she said. Both styles will be available in a single color, nude with pink inside.

While lingerie company Coquette recently dropped its Penthouse license, Renger expressed her support for the brand, noting that Ellie renewed its Penthouse license about a year ago. She added that Ellie’s Leg Avenue license had “expired at the end of last year” and will not be continued. Ellie has expanded the licensed Bettie Page line, which now contains 25 styles, and has just produced a 20-page catalog to support the brand.

Renger expressed enthusiasm for Metropolis, a line of steampunk inspired shoes which was introduced last year, and which was on display in the Ellie booth at the International Lingerie Show in March.
