Los Angeles-based Sassybax showcased its collection of bodyshapers at this spring’s "The Next Great Consumer Brands Showcase," held at the Nasdaq OMX MarketSite in New York City’s Times Square on March 17. The shapewear maker, which is owned and headed by Amanda Horan Kennedy, was joined by a variety of other brands, including Bills Khakis, Harrow Sports and Vero Water.
The Nasdaq OMX Group, which calls itself "the world’s largest exhange company," co-hosted the event with Consensus Advisors, a boutique investment bank serving the retail and consumer product industries. The companies called Sassybax and the other exhibitors selected "some of the most exciting privately-held consumer brand companies."
"We are delighted to partner with the Nasdaq in bringing together these 15 great consumer brands. We believe all of them could have a big impact on their marketplace over the coming decade," Michael O’Hara, C.E.O of Consensus Advisors, said in a statement.
The exhibitors presented and demonstrated their products to an audience of equity investors, venture capital firms and commercial lenders with an interest in investing in consumer space.
