(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). Urban Outfitters, Inc. reported that revenue for the first quarter rose 9 percent to $524 million.
The retailer posted a net income of $39 million, or 23 cents a share, compared with $53 million, or 31 cents a share, in the first quarter one year ago. Direct-to-consumer sales through the website and catalog rose 18.5 percent, while the wholesale segment sales rose 21.4 percent.
Urban Outfitters, Inc. operates Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and Free People stores in the United States, Canada and Europe. The Free People brand wholesales to approximately 1,700 specialty and department stores.
