(Filed Under wholesale Activewear News). Rock Fit LLC, manufacturer of Marika brand shape-enhancing activewear, has filed two separate lawsuits against JCPenney and Hanesbrands for infringement of Marika’s designs.
"In order to protect our designs, we are unfortunately going to have to let the marketplace know that we are commencing a campaign to enforce our patent rights," said Frank Zarabi, chief executive officer of Rock Fit and parent company FAM Brands. "We do not relish this fact, but we have no choice. Many years of hard work, dedication and innovation went into our designs, as well as a strong financial commitment. We simply cannot ignore the infringements of our patents."
Commerce, Calif.-based Rock Fit has applied for over 20 patents and has received eight for its activewear designs. Rock Fit expects more patents to be issued in the near future.
