H&M to Open Bulgarian Location

(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). Hennes & Mauritz AB plans to open its first store in Bulgaria in March 2012.

The H&M will be located in a two-level, 23,700-square-foot space in The Mall in Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria. The Mall is Bulgaria’s largest shopping center.

"We see this as a natural step in our expansion strategy," said H&M C.E.O. Karl-Johan Persson in a statement. "We see great potential for expansion in the country."

H&M recently opened stores in Croatia and Romania and plans to open several additional stores in the U.S., U.K. and China by the end of the year.
