Vitale Appointed Wacoal America President

(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Robert Vitale has been named president and co-C.E.O. of Wacoal America, Inc. effective April 1, 2012. Vitale will be succeeding current president Richard C. Murray, who will move to the position of vice chairman.

Vitale brings more than 34 years of experience in the intimate apparel industry to the position, including more than 14 years with the company, first as vice president of sales, then executive vice president of sales and marketing. Vitale oversaw the launch of the b.tempt’d brand, company daywear and shapewear launches and the expansion of Wacoal’s retail consultant team to 70 members.

"Vitale’s work ethic and integrity has earned him the respect of our retail partners as well as our employees," stated Murray. "He totally supports our company philosophy and has the long-term vision to keep us on track as a successful company ... I look forward to supporting him in his new responsibilities as president."

New York-based Wacoal America, Inc. is one of 30 divisions of Kyoto, Japan-based intimate apparel manufacturer Wacoal Corp.
