A two-level, 200,000-square-foot location will replace an existing Macy’s store at the Westfield South Shore shopping center in Bay Shore, N.Y. The current store is scheduled to close in March 2012 with the replacement location scheduled to open in fall 2013. A three-level, 160,000-square-foot Macy’s will open between fall 2013 and spring 2014 in the Mall at Bay Plaza in the Bronx, N.Y., serving the popular shopping area along the I-95 corridor. In California, a one-level, 103,000-square-foot Macy’s will open in the Mall of Victor Valley in Victorville, Calif. in mid-2013.
"Our new Macy’s stores in Bay Plaza and South Shore will help us to better serve customers and deepen our presence in the diverse and densely populated New York marketplace, where we already enjoy a significant presence," stated Ron Klein, chief stores officer for Macy’s, Inc. "Our Victorville store, on the other hand, will be the first Macy’s in that rapidly growing city, and we look forward to meeting and engaging new customers."
Macy’s, based in Cincinnati and New York, operates approximately 850 locations across the United States and its territories.
