(Filed Under wholesale Loungewear News). Signe Tolstrup, designer for loungewear and lingerie brand Afterwear, debuted her newest collection, entitled Deco Delight, at the Salon International de la Lingerie tradeshow in Paris this January featuring a black and white color palette.
All styles launched under the winter 2009/10 collection, which is targeted at women 20 and older who “like special delicate garments in exclusive fabrics,” were inspired by English artist Aubrey Beardsley’s illustrations, said Tolstrup. “The atmosphere is found in his black and white graphic, yet amazingly detailed Art Deco universe,” she said.
Colors include black, off white, crème and chocolate black with gold and silver accents done in sand washed silk, georgette silk chiffon, cotton tulle and viscose jerseys.
Tolstrup outlined the differences between Deco Delight in comparison to previous Afterwear collections, “the collection is very subtle compared to previous Afterwer collections,” she said. “Also, I have launched a hand-painted print on silk this season.”
Deco Delight, which has a wholesale range of €20 to €267 (approximately $25.88 to $345.60 at the current exchange rate), will hit stores in September of this year.
All items are available in sizes XS through L and in one size fits all.
Afterwear’s products are currently offered in seven countries including the U.S. American retailers selling the garments include Manhattan-based Barney’s, Leontine, and Albertine, as well as Brooklyn-based Alexis Isadora, Washington-based Nancy Meyer Fine Lingerie and Los Angeles-based Coco de Mer.
