IBISWorld’s industry analysts predict an upturn in the market due to a combination of factors including the advent of modern textile and manufacturing technologies, a recovering economy and improved consumer confidence as well as a shift in how women have begun to view the products. "They have begun to see lingerie as a part of fashion rather than just a necessity," stated IBISWorld analyst Janet Shim.

The report indicates a positive sales environment for specialty stores as well as mass merchandisers, chains and department stores.
