(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). A strong Black Friday turnout at Victoria’s Secret stores pushed parent company Limited Brands’ November revenue up 7 percent, beating analysts’ estimates.
November same-store sales rose 11 percent at Victoria’s Secret and 6 percent at Bath & Body Works. However, same-store sales at the company’s La Senza lingerie chain, which has locations mostly in Canada, fell 7 percent. Total sales fell 2.3 percent to $872.6 million, mostly due to costs related to the sale of its third-party apparel company Mast Global Fashions to Sycamore Partners, a New York-based private equity firm, at the beginning of the month.
The company announced that it will issue a special dividend of $2 a share to shareholders of record, payable on Dec. 23, 2011.
Limited Brands, Inc. currently operates approximately 2,640 retail locations worldwide.
