Urban Outfitters C.E.O. Resigns


(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). Specialty retailer Urban Outfitters, Inc. announced the resignation of chief executive officer Glen T. Senk on Jan. 9, 2012. He is succeeded by Richard A. Hayne, president and chairman of the board of directors.

Senk, 55, joined Urban Outfitters in 1994 as president of Anthropologie, became a director in 2004 and was named C.E.O. in 2007. The company stated he resigned to pursue another opportunity, but will remain for a period of time to assist with the management transition. New C.E.O. Hayne, 64, co-founded Urban Outfitters in 1970 and has served as president and chairman since the company’s incorporation in 1976.

Urban Outfitters, Inc. operates over 300 retail stores as well as online, catalog and wholesale businesses under the Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, BHLDN and Terrain brand names.
