(Filed Under Textiles News). Global Lyocell/Tencel fiber producer Lenzing AG has announced the company will be taking legal action to protect its patents from Austrian engineering firm One-A Engineering Austria GmbH.
Lenzing has filed a preliminary injunction against One-A, a company owned by four previous Lenzing/Lyocell employees. One-A recently received an engineering contact from Chinese firm Baoding Swan Ltd. Lenzing’s preliminary injunction expressly prohibits One-A Engineering to relay information to any company — Baoding Swan Ltd. in particular — regarding Lenzing’s patented process for producing high-quality Lyocell fibers. The ban also prohibits the supply of project concepts; technical drafts and plans; plant designs; and the issuance of instruction manuals for plants, equipment, technical components and any other services.
The company said in a statement that it will "take uncompromising action against any and every violation of its patent rights in the future as well."
Lenzing AG is part of The Lenzing Group, which produces high-quality manmade cellulose fibers from renewable resources. The company has U.S. offices in Mobile, Ala. and New York City.
