(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Israel-based intimate apparel and sportswear maker Tefron Ltd. has partnered with Italy-based hosiery and intimates company Cifra S.p.A. to produce a a collection of lingerie, shapewear and activewear using innovative warp-knit seamless production technology.
"It is a joint venture between the two biggest world producers in circular seamless and warp seamless," Cifra C.E.O. Cesare Citterio told BODY Magazine. The companies will collaborate on design and development, with the garments being produced using Cifra’s unique warp-knitting machinery located at the company’s Verano Brianza plant in Milan, Italy. Known for its hosiery, socks and intimate apparel, Cifra’s state-of-the-art double-needle-bar jacquard raschel machines are capable of creating apparel with complex patterns or intricate details in a short period of time. The machines can also knit multiple garments simultaneously, resulting in the production of up to 150,000 pairs of stockings per day.
The partnership allows both companies to expand, with Cifra moving into the activewear market for the first time and Tefron becoming one of the first major design-led companies to offer both weft- and warp-knit seamless garments. The garments are available now to private labels.
Cifra S.p.A. produces hosiery, seamless styles and custom work for private labels worldwide. Tefron Ltd.’s seamless intimate apparel, activewear and swimwear is sold through major retailers worldwide, including Victoria’s Secret, Warnaco/Calvin Klein, Hanesbrands, The Gap, JCPenney and T.J. Maxx.
