(Filed Under wholesale Sleepwear News). You know that saying “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”? Esperanza Mañas, president of P.Jamas, designs her collections with that notion. While she does add new cuts, styles and colors seasonally, she keeps the essence of her line intact.

This season, Mañas has revamped some old styles as well as added new ones, featuring Egyptian and pima cotton fabrics and some new colors.

Four new fabrics have been added to “Coleccion,” which are set at a wholesale range of $90 to $199. The company’s new group in fine pima cotton poplin now comes in a colorful fuscia with white stripes. The flannels now have a feminine scalloped trim. Both styles are at a wholesale range of $48 to $58. There are also many combinations of blue, lavender, violet or purple stripes and checks on robes, pajamas, nightshirts and shorts.

Mañas also has her signature knits, anchored by the “Butterknits” and “Heirlooms groups.” She is adding a violet color to her Butterknits and five new styles to the Heirlooms. A quilted basket weave set was done in white for the summer and instantly became the company’s best-seller, she said. Now she is doing it in soft sunny sand colors, which is “beautiful for the fall.” She is also adding a new robe style to this group, which features buttons down the front with a bit of shaping “so you don’t look like a sack of potatoes,” joked Mañas.

In addition, Mañas has added a new less expensive smocking group to her “Heirlooms” collection, which is hand smocked, hand embroidered and hand crocheted. “People come to me for [the Heirlooms],” said Mañas. “We are doing very well with those.” The new group ranges in price from $55 to $68.

Styles will begin shipping in August, with others being shipped in September and October.
