(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). A French commercial court settled on a bid from a consortium led by Alain Prost for the takeover of insolvent lingerie brand Lejaby.
Prost is the former C.E.O. of Italian lingerie brand La Perla as well as a previous managing director of French brand Chantelle. Consortium associates include Italian investment firm Fiduciaria San Babila as well as Tunisia-based lingerie manufacturing company Isalys, a subcontractor of Lejaby.
According to the restructuring plan submitted to the court, the consortium will retain 195 of Lejaby’s 450 employees in France. The lingerie brand, previously owned by Austria-based Palmers Textil AG, went into administration in October 2011 and ceased trading publicly on Jan. 20, 2012.
