(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). (CurveNV Report) Launched at CurveNV (February 11-13), new True Intimates produces a small, finely-made collection of lingerie, which focuses on matching six different shades of skin. “The bras are comfortable and supportive and will last a really long time,” declared Melanie Poblete, CEO. “They are supportive enough to wear during the day and sexy enough to transition into the evening.”
The skin tones range from Caucasian to a very dark brown, and are whimsically named for the tree bark they match: birch, maple, palm, juniper, cypress and willow. The skin tones are based on research, said Poblete, and are “a lot closer than what you get now” from other producers. She added that as far as most lingerie goes, “darker skin tones are just not there.”
Bras are sized 32 AA to 40 F, said Poblete, adding that the company can provide other sizes for large volume orders. Panties range from extra small to double XL. The suggested retail price for the bras ranges from $70 to $96 and the panties from $26 to $32. The company also produces two styles of corsets, one with a stitched cup, the other with a molded cup, also in the six shades. The suggested retail price is $175. The entire collection of seven bras and seven panties is made in Los Angeles, where the company is based.
Jocelyn Binder is a partner in the firm, and was in the booth at Las Vegas Curve when BODY visited. She will bring the line to New York Curve (February 21-23). Kristin Piccolo has just joined the firm at the position of director of sales. The company was formed in October of 2011.
