(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). The firing of a woman (who says she was told she was “just too hot” by lingerie wholesaler, Native Intimates) has led to stories in the The New York Post, Huffington Post and other media outlets, as well as the filing of a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the NY Post reported this week.
The claim was made by Lauren Odes, who was placed at the firm by a temp agency. Her attorney, Gloria Allred, told the paper, “The company’s treatment of Ms. Odes was particularly ironic considering that it sells women’s undergarments and keeps a showroom with bras, lingerie and other intimate clothing...No woman should be told that her breasts are too large, her body too appealing and her appearance too attractive for the male leadership of that company.” Native declined comment according to the Post.
