“We have focused more toward fashion wear than ever before, and now seamless is literally becoming part of fashion wear,” with garments that require “extensive sewing, and other fabric and trims” and various adaptations that are “like conventional cut and sewn styles. I think it is [slowly] moving toward that direction and eventually converging to form-fitting fashion wear.”
Intimo was founded in 2003 and has focused on private label for most of that time, striving to be the “novelty seamless leader” in North America. A couple of years ago the company exhibited at Curve in Las Vegas “with [the] intention of getting private label exposure, but now we are [in the] process of setting up our own brand.” He cautioned, however, that the move to creating a brand is “being done slowly.”
Currently clients include several of the best-know and largest fashion and intimates retailers. Intimo edge is that the company is expert in working with “spun yarns in seamless technology where most of other people still run filament yarns,” said Yang, adding that his offerings are “still the seamless product both in circular machines and importing from Tricot tubular from Italy for high end market.” The company now runs 41 machines, “Santoni, and San Giacomo, which are both circular seamless.”
