Bradelis New York, the Japanese apparel and intimates firm, will be exhibiting its new adhesive bra collection at the Moda show (Javits Center, booth 1040, August 5-7), while its collaborator in the creation of the bras, Bragel, will be exhibiting at the same time at CurveNY.
According to Lana Sanders, an executive at Bradelis, the company is showing the bras along with “coordinating ready to wear pieces” to demonstrate “how you can accessorize your wardrobe.” The “Nubra x Bradelis New York” adhesive bras, which are manufactured by Bragel and designed by Bradelis, feature bold prints or elaborate embellishments, are designed to be seen, either through a transparent blouse or in the cleavage of a low-cut garment.
Sanders explained that there are 19 new styles in the 2013 collection of Bradelis adhesive bras, which join “around a dozen” styles in the debut collection. In addition, at Moda the firm will exhibit several “sheer blouses, backless dresses” and other garments that allow glimpses underneath of the bras. Blouses retail for $135, the dresses for $125 to $135. The 19 new bras will feature “more print styles this time around,” according to Sanders. The original collection had many styles decorated with sequins, beads or crystals. One new style, which retails for $75, features a “necklace” detail to the backless, strapless bra.
There are four Bradelis shops in the U.S., and parent company Gold Flag Ltd. operates another 20 under various names in Japan and China. The shops in the U.S. feature many conventional bra styles, and focus on providing customers with a custom fit. The company also wholesales its intimates and other apparel around the world. Bragel, a completely separate company, has produced and marketed its own collection of basic and unadorned adhesive bras under the Nubra label for several years.
