(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Luxe Za.Za, a Brazilian lingerie brand, was at Curve New York with its spring/summer 2013 collection, the most interesting pieces of which feature extra straps or piping details. Unlike some South American lines where there are only straps and nothing else, most of the pieces in this collection provide adequate coverage for most customers.
Luxe Za.Za, “lingeries of glam,” as the logo reads, was launched by sisters Simone and Monica Zaslawski in 2008. “This is versatile lingerie for sophisticated women that have an extra dose of style and boldness,” explained Simone as she showed the line at her show booth, adding that her “sexy styles” are designed “to complement the outfit you are wearing.”
The new collection included 13 groups, each with three to eight pieces each, mostly bras, panties or thongs, but there are a couple of chemises and a body suit.
We liked the Lucy group, which feature a low cut, triangle bra that comes together in the center at a large ring. The interesting detail is a narrow, extra strap the runs from a small ring at each shoulder, necklace-like, to the ring in the cleavage and back up to the other shoulder. The bra is offered in white, purple or yellow-gold, in sizes 32 to 40, A,B,C,D. The bra wholesales for $42, duty and shipping paid to the U.S. The matching string or tanga both feature a prominent central ring and a thin, extra strap under the main strap. Each wholesales for $37. Fabrication is 88% elastane, 12% polyamide.
Another favorite, the Vicky group. The prominent features here are three straps that start from a ring at each shoulder and support the right. left and center of each bra cup. The colors are bordeaux or black, and the sizing is the same as with the Lucy group. Landed wholesale price for the bra is $41. There is a matching string or tanga; both wholesale for $23. Fabrication is 88% elastane, 12% polyamide.
We photographed Simone at the booth with the “intense blue” padded “bralet” ($44) and matching “hot panty” ($32) from the Loreta group. Both pieces include scarlet horizontal trims and multiple, vertical blue bands of dark blue piping. Sizing is the same as with the other styles described. Fabrication is 88% elastane, 12% polyamide.
The line sheet the company prepared for the show describes Luxe Za.Za as “ladylike to subtly frivolous.” But the brand does get racier than that: a review of the complete offerings on the company’s web site revealed a wide selection of tasseled pasties in various colors, designed to be worn with a couple of the firms more revealing styles, including a cupless bra.
