Peekay founder Phyllis Heppenstall and Peekay staff members assembled over 150 gift bags with robes, apparel, undergarments and toiletries to be donated to West Coast-based charities including ACAP Child and Family Services of Auburn, SafePlace Olympia, Children of the Night of Southern California and Mary’s Place.
Peekay has focused on supporting women and children for the 31 years the company has been in business. “This is one small way that we help to ensure a measure of happiness and cheer gets spread around a bit,” Heppenstall said. “Our employees are always excited to participate in this volunteer program every year, and we are pleased that every year we are able to add more PJ bags.”
Peekay, Inc. is the parent company of retail chains Lovers, ConRev and A Touch of Romance, with dozens of locations in California and Washington state.
