(Filed Under wholesale Hosiery News). Intecol Hosiery, a firm that was founded in Portugal in 1985, doing both branded and private label business, attended its first CurveNY show in February, with the aim of introducing its Lady Suzy brand to U.S. retailers.
General manger Celia Macedo explained that the company does not yet sell into the U.S. in any capacity, but does have distribution into such countries as its native Portugal, Spain, Holland, France, Estonia, Lithuania and Israel. “Lady Suzy is in the medium segment in terms of price,” Macedo continued, adding that its higher-priced Passione Divina brand, has not, as of yet, been targeted to the U.S. market. Speaking of American retailers she said, “I think they should invest in our brand [Lady Suzy] because of our very strong quality [with a] good relationship between price and quality for everyday products with lots of colors and patterns.”
Microfiber tights in the Lady Suzy collection could retail in the U.S. for as little as $2.50, claimed Macedo. Worldwide turnover for the firm is between €1 and €1.5 million, she added.
